For the first time, my efforts on social media are translating into sales. I am not sure what tipped the scales, but people are direct messaging me to buy things I post. This is great and also stressful. Since it's Instagram, people comment and connect instantly. That means any time of day. I find myself responding to people and answering questions until I go to bed! I get nervous if I don't catch the customer right away, he or she will lose interest. With email I find that I don't feel as inclined to respond at that exact second, but social media makes everything feel so incredibly immediate. What is the proper time frame in which we can answer direct messages from potential customers on platforms like Instagram and Facebook if we still want boundaries in our work/life structure?
