Having a staff is like having a family and sometimes, as a manager, it can be too easy to reprimand off the cuff. I witnessed this the other day at a business with a manager berating a staffer in front of customers and it was a real turn-off. Of course, it's hard to know all the context but whatever it is, it definitely made me and the other customers uncomfortable. I always think it's best to speak with staff in private even if I have to wait to address the issue because of customers or clients in the store. Any thoughts on how you've dealt with issues like this in the past?
