I don't know why I have lived here for fifteen years and still don't have an NYC ID. There is actually no excuse. I live in one of the most traveled-to exciting cities in the world and it's not cheap to be here. When I don't take time to explore the city's institutions, I feel like I paid entry into an amusement park, but forgot to ride all the rides. For those of you on a small business owner budget, who could use a time out or a reminder of why we are in this great city, I highly suggest looking into an NYC ID. I am going to get mine next week! An NYCID will get you discounts at the YMCA or membership to any park facility in the city. You get discounts at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, American Museum of Natural History, MOMA PS1 and a whole list of other places and benefits here: http://www1.nyc.gov/site/idnyc/benefits/museums-and-cultural-institutions.page
