Today, a young lady asked me if she can bring her dog in the restaurant, when I said that pets are not allowed in the restaurant, she said her dog is a service dog, and she said she has the certificate. Since this is the 1st time I heard about this exception, I told the lady I need to check on this over the internet, she got upset with me and left.
Later, my server told me any service animal are permitted and not only that, the owner does not has to have a certificate with her nor is she required to show it to me because it will break her privacy. I kind of caught dumbfounded by this whole regulation thing. I mean why have an exception to the regulation for service animal and yet certificate of prove is not necessary?!
In any case, I just look up the internet and found some helpful Q&As. Hope this is helpful for you as well. https://www.ada.gov/archive/qasrvc.htm
