When small business owners have the resources they need, challenges aren’t obstacles; they are opportunities to innovate and learn something new. Successful people aren’t afraid to ask for help, and find value in working with other people to come up with the smartest solutions. Townsquared partners with many small business associations because these organizations help identify and address the issues that impact the climate of the small business community, and offer resources to help small business owners overcome many of the obstacles they face. Townsquared is thrilled to be partnering with the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, a member organization that has demonstrated a commitment to connecting small business professionals to partners, networks and customers, and helping grow the small business community in the greater Manhattan borough of New York City.

At the launch celebration of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and Townsquared partnership, nearly 100 local business professionals came together to learn how to get business support through the Townsquared network and the Chamber’s new Help Desk program. Members of the Manhattan Chamber are automatically connected to other Chamber members and to the MCC private discussion group on Townsquared. Through the MCC private discussion group on Townsquared, members can submit Help Desk requests and get answers from local experts and from the Chamber staff.

The MCC Help Desk can answer these questions, and more:

1. Am I required to provide healthcare for my employees?
2. How do I become M/WBE certified?
3. What are my rights as a business tenant?
4. How do I sell my services to government?
5. How do I protect my business from cybersecurity risks?
6. Can I outsource human resources?
7. How do new immigration laws affect my employees?

A small business owner has to serve as CEO, CFO, COO, and HR Director. Even with additional staff and resources, it’s difficult to know where to turn for real-time information and answers. The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce’s private discussion group on Townsquared enables Chamber members to connect with other members more effectively. The special group allows MCC members to take advantage of the new Help Desk program, connecting them to qualified professionals. Experts in the fields of accounting, law, real estate, banking, human resources, public relations, marketing, IT and small business insurance, among others, are available to advise small business professionals on funding, legal issues, government regulations, staffing, marketing, real estate, health care, technology, and more. Through the Townsquared network and the Chamber’s new Help Desk, members of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce can receive confidential guidance and information on pressing business matters.
