The Sand Point small business community is located in Seattle, Washington. The Sand Point neighborhood is named after the Sand Point peninsula that juts into Lake Washington. Most of the Sand Point peninsula is in Magnuson Park, the neighborhood’s greatest attraction. The neighborhood is bounded by Sand Point Way Northeast, which begins just off Northeast 125th Street in Lake City and parallels the shores of Lake Washington before being bisected by Northeast 65th Street. Sand Point is bordered by the Lake City neighborhood to the north, View Ridge to the west and Windermere and Laurelhurst to the south. An airfield in Sand Point was the endpoint of the first aerial circumnavigation of the world in 1924. The historic flight helped convince Congress to develop Sand Point as a Naval Air Station, although the station ceased operations in 1970. The Sand Point community has a neighborly feel, and restaurants in the area are well-loved by locals. Brunch spots and yoga studios in the Sand Point small business community, and the Sand Point Grill are neighborhood favorites. Real estate professionals and other small business professionals serve the community, described as a country living spot within the city limits. The Sand Point neighborhood is removed from Seattle’s city center, although the city center is just minutes away. For the mild at heart, the Sand Point community and greater Seattle, experiences warm and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F.
